Fundraising

Some of our supporters often ask how they can support Shine-A-Light CF in a practical way. Well, the best way is to help raise funds for our work. Shine-A-Light CF has no independent income, so our ongoing work is totally reliant upon the generosity of our friends and supporters. Can you help to give abandoned or disabled children a better future?

It doesn't matter how much you raise, any amount will help us to continue helping hundreds of children to have a better future. What's more, because we spend so little of our income on overheads, you are assured that whatever you raise will make a difference in the lives of some needy children.

Fundraising Events

Have you ever considered running a fundraising event? Why not get together with your friends, school, church or club and hold a fundraising event for Shine-A-Light CF?

Here are a few ideas for events you might like to consider...

• Hold a cake sale
• A quiz night (charge an entry fee)
• Hold an auction (could be items, or people's skills etc.)
• Run a dinner dance / ball
• A craft or jumble sale
• Do a fun day with stalls etc.
• A backwards banquet (serve coffee first, then desert etc.)
• Hold a fancy dress party
• A country dancing / line dancing / ceilidh evening

Whatever you do, whether it raises £5 or £5000, will make a big difference to our work and every penny will be very gratefully received.

A Sponsored Event

This can be a great way to raise money and can be something that can be done by just one person, or by a whole group of you.

You could organise your own event, such as a sponsored walk, sponsored silence, a cycle ride or sponsored swim. Or join an organised event such as a parachute jump, bungee jump, abseiling event etc. Or why not tackle a real challenge such as the 'Three Peaks Challenge'?

Special Occasions

Some of our supporters use their special occasion to raise money for on behalf of Shine-A-Light CF. Any event can be turned into a fund-raising event just by asking folks to Shine-A-Light CF as a birthday or wedding present. etc.

A really simple way to set this up is to use the service offered by Charity Giving or Charity Choice and set up a page for your event.

Join a Sponsored Challenge

You could also join an organisation such as Action Challenge UK and nominate on behalf of Shine-A-Light Children Foundation as your beneficiary.
